Opuszczona willa Wajdy

馃嚨馃嚤 Dzi艣 zwiedzimy opuszczon膮 i niedoko艅czon膮 will臋, o kt贸rej kr膮偶y legenda, jakoby mia艂 tu mieszka膰 polski re偶yser Andrzej Wajda. Budowa rezydencji rozpocz臋艂a si臋 w po艂owie lat 80’ XX w. Wed艂ug miejskich legend dom ten mia艂 by膰 w艂asno艣ci膮 znanego re偶ysera, kt贸ry mia艂 tu mieszka膰 i kr臋ci膰 swoje filmy. Inne plotki g艂osz膮, 偶e w domu umar艂a utajniona c贸rka re偶ysera, a w stawie le偶a艂 zatopiony samoch贸d. W艂adze miasta konsekwentnie dementuj膮 plotki o rzekomym posiadaniu willi na w艂asno艣膰 przez Wajd臋.

Today we will visit an abandoned and unfinished villa, about which there is a legend that the Polish director Andrzej Wajda was supposed to live here. The construction of the residence began in the mid-1980s. According to the plan, a huge manor-style villa was to be built here, but after about 10 years the project was finally abandoned and for many years the building was consistently deteriorating and overgrown with greenery. Despite this, the building gives the impression of enormous splendor due to the now invisible park layout with a lake, colonnades and a porch, as well as the craftsmanship and the breadth of architectural assumptions. According to urban legends, the house was to be owned by a famous director who was supposed to live here and shoot his films. Other rumors have it that the director's secret daughter died in the house, and there was a sunken car in the pond. The city authorities consistently deny rumors that the villa was allegedly owned by Wajda. Currently, this abandoned villa is closed and gradually renovated, so there is a chance to give this place a second life.

Opuszczony pa艂ac eklektyczny z ko艅ca XVIII wieku

馃嚨馃嚤 Historia pa艂acu rozpoczyna si臋 w roku 1787, kiedy 贸w budynek powsta艂. Zosta艂 on wzniesiony w miejscu dawnego dworu, a wok贸艂 niego i w dolinie rzeki za艂o偶ono park krajobrazowy w stylu angielskim. Przez kolejne lata dokonywano stopniowej modernizacji i przebudowy pa艂acu w stylu eklektycznym. W maju 1809 r. w murach tego obiektu znajdowa艂a si臋 kwatera dow贸dcy armii Ksi臋stwa Warszawskiego, ksi臋cia J贸zefa Poniatowskiego. Kolejno w 1936 i 1937 r. kr臋cono tu sceny do film贸w „Tr臋dowata” i „U艂an Ksi臋cia J贸zefa”. We wrze艣niu 1939 r. kwaterowa艂o tu dow贸dztwo Grupy Operacyjnej Kawalerii gen. W艂adys艂awa Andersa. Nast臋pnie w czasie II wojny 艣wiatowej kwaterowali tu Niemcy.

The history of the palace begins in 1787, when the building was built. It was erected on the site of a former manor house, and an English-style landscape park was established around it and in the river valley. In the times of the Lubomirski family, the palace served as a summer salon and a meeting place for people of science and art. After the death of Princess Maria Karolina Radziwi艂艂 n茅e Lubomirska in 1795, the property was inherited by her nephew, Jan Alojzy Potocki. In the nineteenth century, the building changed owners and buyers many times: among them we can mention Joseph Christian Heinrich von Maltzan, his son Georg, Karol and Jan Szlenkier and Szymon Neuman. Over the following years, the palace was gradually modernized and rebuilt in an eclectic style. In May 1809, the headquarters of the commander of the army of the Duchy of Warsaw, Prince J贸zef Poniatowski, were located within the walls of this building. In 1936 and 1937, scenes for the films called "Tr臋dowata" and "U艂an Ksi臋cia J贸zefa" were filmed here. In September 1939, the command of General W艂adys艂aw Anders Cavalry Operational Group was headquartered here. Then, during the Second World War, the Germans quartered here. After 1945, there were, among others, an agricultural school, a health center, a pharmacy, a kindergarten and a branch of a primary school. In 1998 the property was regained by the heirs of the Neuman family, who later sold it to one of the Polish companies, and since then the palace has been abandoned to this day...

Fort VII Twierdzy Modlin

馃嚨馃嚤 Fort VII by艂 jednym z fort贸w wchodz膮cych w sk艂ad pier艣cienia wewn臋trznego Twierdzy Modlin. Wg r贸偶nych 藕r贸de艂 zosta艂 zbudowany w latach 1878-1880 lub 1883-1888. Poniewa偶 wysoko艣膰 terenu by艂a bardzo niska, to wi臋kszo艣膰 podziemnych chodnik贸w wewn膮trz fortu posiada艂a kana艂y odwadniaj膮ce. W latach 1912-1914 przeprowadzona zosta艂a modernizacja fortu. Wszystkie cz臋艣ci fortu by艂y po艂膮czone poternami, kt贸re tworz膮 do dzi艣 najbardziej rozbudowany system podziemnych po艂膮cze艅 w Twierdzy Modlin. W trakcie I wojny 艣wiatowej rosyjska za艂oga fortu skutecznie stawia艂a op贸r armii niemieckiej a偶 do kapitulacji w dniu 20 sierpnia 1915 r. Fort przetrwa艂 wojn臋 w stanie nienaruszonym, natomiast zniszczenia cz臋艣ci fortyfikacji mog膮 prawdopodobnie pochodzi膰 z czas贸w II wojny 艣wiatowej. We wn臋trzu fortu mo偶na odnale藕膰 oryginalne napisy w j臋zyku rosyjskim b臋d膮ce warto艣ciowym 艣wiadectwem historii tego miejsca. Do 2004 r. znajdowa艂a si臋 r贸wnie偶 pancerna kopu艂a obserwacyjna, kt贸ra ostatecznie zosta艂a zniszczona (prawdopodobnie posz艂a na z艂om).

Fort VII was one of the forts included in the inner ring of the Modlin Fortress. According to various sources, it was built in the years 1878-1880 or 1883-1888. The fortifications were built on a symmetrical trapezoid plan with the forehead facing southwest, with a moat surrounding the entire area. Since the height of the area was very low, most of the underground walkways inside the fort had drainage channels. In the years 1912-1914, the fort was modernized. At that time, the military facilities were expanded by two tradytory (divided into two rooms for four artillery positions and a searchlight), two rooms probably intended for the ammunition store and generator, a slope pen and an anti-scarp caponier to defend the right shoulder, left shoulder and forehead of the fort, respectively, and artillery bunker. Additionally, Fort VII was connected to the powder magazine by two lifts for transporting ammunition for the crew. All parts of the fort were connected by poterns, which until today form the most extensive system of underground connections in the Modlin Fortress. During World War I, the Russian crew of the fort effectively resisted the German army until the surrender on August 20, 1915. The fort survived the war intact, while the destruction of part of the fortifications may probably come from World War II. Inside the fort, you can find original inscriptions in Russian, which are a valuable testimony to the history of this place. Until 2004, there was also an armored observation dome, which was eventually destroyed (probably scrapped).
