🇵🇱 Fort IV ("Chrzanów") to jeden z niewielu zachowanych pod względem architektonicznym obiektów militarnych będących częścią pierścienia zewnętrznego Twierdzy Warszawa. Został zbudowany w latach 1883-1890. Miał on za zadanie obronę szosy poznańskiej i linii kolejowej. Dodatkowo fort posiadał dużą kaponierę w szyi fortu przeznaczoną do ostrzału międzypól. Jedynie w dawnej szyi fortu powstało osiedle mieszkaniowe. Obecnie obiekt jest opuszczony.
🇬🇧 Fort IV ("Chrzanów") is one of the few architecturally preserved military structures that are part of the outer ring of the Warsaw Fortress. It was built in the years 1883-1890. Its task was to defend the Poznań highway and the railway line. The fort was created in the form of a pentagonal work with two faces touching at an angle close to the angle of 180 degrees. The single-shaft fortification was surrounded by a dry moat. The complex consisted of brick neck barracks, two shoulder half caponiers and a front caponier to defend the moat. In addition, the fort had a large caponier in the neck of the fort, intended for firing between the fields. After 1909, as part of the liquidation of the Warsaw fortress, some of the fort's buildings were destroyed. In September 1939, the 360th Infantry Regiment fought in this section with the Germans as part of the defense of Warsaw. After World War II, until 1994, it housed a meat processing plant and a technical warehouse of PSS "Społem". Then the area was taken over by the Polish Army. After 2001, the area of the former fort passed into private hands, and the owner undertook to build a housing estate, hotel and conference center. In 2006, the building was entered into the register of monuments, which complicated the ambitious plans to give this place a second life. A housing estate was built only in the former neck of the fort. Currently, the building is abandoned.
